It was with extreme amusement that I perused an article on CNS News. It seems the legislature in Virginia had decided to pass a resolution formally apologizing for slavery. Ok...well and good. If there are those alive who care and really feel a need to abase themselves...so be it.

The amusing part is the luke warm vote of approval tendered by one Rev Jessie Jackson, the elder statesman of profession victimhood. He of couse tempered his enthusiasm by reminding the folks in Virginia that there can be no apology without some form of material consequences. Presumably this is yet another attempt to bilk the taxpayers into paying reparations.

Mr Jackson, sir, if reparations are indeed the need of the day, please feel free to contact the ancestors of the black tribesmen in Africa that captured and sold their own people to the slavers. Without their "harvesting" the crop, there would have been no market. Their "crime" is far more revolting. They sir, violated the dignity and lives of their own people. Take your claims to them and leave the rest of us alone. We tire of your endless whining. You sir have made a tidy piece of change being the professional victim. Time you got a real job...or better yet, retired.
