Bryan,
I think it is extremely important that our Members nationwide see this well-reasoned, compelling letter from JAC. He analyzes the problem perfectly -- and provides some insights I certainly did not have.
It's letters like this one that make me proud to be the chairman of this wonderful organization.

Dear Folks at LaptopAmerica:I have included only the top part of your letter, so you will have a point of reference as to what I am responding to.
With that in mind, please let me tell you that your faith and mine are in total agreement. This war we are engaged in is one that can easily be ended by the Islamofascists ending their campaign of hatred of all those not in total agreement with them.
However, we must not lose sight of the fact that it cannot be stressed forcefully enough that these Islamofascists are people who CANNOT, because they WILL NOT, be reasoned with. They are completely convinced that they are doing the work of God, because of their interpretation of the Koran.
"Islam" translated into English means "submission," and this is taken literally to the point where they are not allowed to even question what they are told. (The Koran itself forbids it.) If they do, they are subject to a penalty of death by beheading. This is something that is so difficult for the Western mind to fathom, that when we hear this expressed, we tend to brush it aside with total incredulity. Nonetheless, it IS the way these people think---and live. They firmly believe that the Koran mandates this behavior, and if the Koran is the word of God, who can oppose it?
It takes an extremely courageous individual to stand up to this way of thinking--even privately. I personally pity them, because there can be no slavery more complete than this. Salmon Rushdie wrote a book about it and had a Fatwa issued against him, forcing him to recant his words.
If you wish to truly understand how these people think, read the Koran for yourself, and you will have a better idea of how they think, and you will understand the futility of trying to reason with them with Judeo-Christian logic concerning love for one's neighbor. To the Muslim fanatic, love of one's neighbor is completely secondary to one's submission to the word of Allah as he (the reader) sees it, and these extremists believe that all who do not submit to his will, must be put to death.
Ezekiel said it all in his prophecies millennia ago. Simply put, nothing short of the direct intervention of God Himself will change the thinking of these poor individuals---and this WILL happen, perhaps sooner than any of us believe.
Please read (or reread, as the case may be) the Book of Ezekiel, paying especially close attention to Chapters 35 through 40.
