It was with extreme amusement that I perused an article on CNS News. It seems the legislature in Virginia had decided to pass a resolution formally apologizing for slavery. Ok...well and good. If there are those alive who care and really feel a need to abase themselves...so be it. The amusing part is the luke warm vote of approval tendered by one Rev Jessie Jackson, the elder statesman of profession victimhood. He of couse tempered his enthusiasm by reminding the folks in Virginia that there can be no apology without some form of material consequences. Presumably this is yet another attempt to bilk the taxpayers into paying reparations. Mr Jackson, sir, if reparations are indeed the need ...America's Silent Two-front War

There is a great deal of beating of breasts and grinding of teeth over the war in Iraq and the possibility of war in Iran. I would call the attention of those of pacifist leanings to one very important point. The war in Iraq is not Bushs war but rather the result of our elected congress failing to exercise their Constitutional authority. If congress hadnt frittered away all their war making authority with the ill-advised War Powers Act we probably wouldnt be in the current fix. By giving President FD Roosevelt virtually unlimited power to make war they opened a Pandoras Box.
